Modcloth Outfits Are In!!

Yay! I have been not so patiently waiting for my Modcloth buys to travel through snail mail from the other side of the world. Today they arrived and I am overjoyed. I love all three items and they fit like a glove. I can't even choose a favourite because they would all be worn for different things. When I get pics of me wearing I will post but for now images from the website.

The first item I fell in love with was the 'Fur sighted top.' The little fur baby on here looks the same as my not so little D'Argo. I love the bold red glasses against the yellow. I am not normally a yellow girl but this was my go to buy.

The dress I originally fell in love with was out of stock so I was brave and took a risk on this 'Ignite the Night Dress.' I will actually wear a black belt with this outfit. I was unsure of the capped sleeves and the unusual neckline but I had nothing to fear. It is such a light weight fabric and is perfect for the tropics.

Finally last, but in no way least, is my new hitting the town dress. It may be covered in cherries but I haven't had a dress fit my body shape this well in years! I love the retro feel of it and cannot wait to rock the look with a small black cardi, black stockings and heels. Might add some bright red lippie and nails to.

Green Island Day Dreams

Sorry blogging buddies. Been a long while since a post. Work was crazy (but in a good way) the last few weeks and then honeymoon, Christmas, New Year and becoming an Aunty!!!!! Phew, I am exhausted just looking back. It has been a wonderful past 2 months. I will dedicate this post to the honeymoon :)

We travelled to Green Island. It was truly an amazing experience. You must stay a few nights on the island, before 10:00am and after 4:30pm you basically have the place to yourself. On our second day we saw 24 Green Sea Turtles over 3 snorkelling sessions around the island. Plus I made a shark buddy too.

We also headed out on the Outer Reef Trip. It was so beautiful. Scott and I are both confident swimmers so we went out a fair way from the pontoon and boat. I was amazing swimming over the varieties of coral and seeing what was around the bend. Words cannot describe how great this holiday was and pictures don't do it justice.

I swear we did spend sometime on dry land...but, we mostly snorkelled or rested in the shallows :)

Wedding In Pics

Well, it has finally happened. I am now officially married to the sweetest, kindest, funniest and many other -est words man that I know. The wedding ceremony is such a blur. All I remember is trying not to fall down and then seeing Scott. Lots of flashes, Scott, blur of faces, Scott and so on and so forth. So here is my day in a few pictures (it was hard to choose what to put up). These are not professional, they are all taken from friends and family on the day and span over 11 hours.

Progressive Dinner

What a surprise this week, a group of lovely ladies from work organised a progressive dinner to celebrate my upcoming wedding. It was so beautiful and we travelled the world of food (and drink). We had some lovely entrees at Rhino Bar where the startlingly pink embarrassing accessories were added, I'm talking bright pink sash, badges, giant tiara and veil and of course the inevitable giant pink penis straw. Kind of regreting wearing the hunter green cardi over my new little black dress from Dotti! Clash or what.

After a great chat and laugh we wandered down to Masala for some yummy Indian cuisine. We of course decided on a banquet with Butter Chicken, Rogan Josh, Beef Masala, Aloo Matter, Mixed Vegetables and of course Garlic Narn. By this stage of the night (2 hours in) we were at the loud, acting out our stories and jokes section and got some wonderful looks from those who passed us by.

We finished up our night at Cactus Jacks for dessert cocktails and chocolate nachos, I mean 'mexcian'. YUMMY! The staff were wonderful offering a free drink for me and a few errors they made also. Above picture was taken at this stage...so I was of course totally sober.... Many wonderful congratulations, squeals, laughter and hugs from strangers and friends. It was a great way to kick of the holiday and wind down from work.

Roasts, Blankets, Cuddles Oh My!

Well, winter is here. The chilly nights with fluffy socks, fluffy bath robes and fluffy beasts curling up for cuddles has arrived. Scott thinks I am wimp. I may be in QLD and it may only hit 10 degrees but I'm a FNQ Girl and its cold! This is a post of some of the wintry things I enjoy.

Blankets, blankets, blankets. I love snuggling into a blanket with a nice cup of tea and a book. So many blankets to choose from, so little time. I have discovered that the little beasts like my tiger blanket the best. Though I love snuggling into my pink and purple afghan made for me by Scott's mum, Ellen. She even made a matching blanket for my beautiful Delenn. Which of course all the kitties fight over. Kitty blanket wars are cute.

Fluffy pink bath robe! Although, I do have a small problem when wearing it. This problem sometimes knocks over my work or wakes me up or makes me miss a stitch or makes me loose my place in a book or loose the entire book. Lucky he is fluffy too.

Soup, pasta, slow cooked anything and roasted meat. If you need a quick pick me up for soup and you don't have time yourself I would recommend the Woolworths brand. I love their Asian Style Sweet Corn and Chicken Soup. Mmmmm...

Here is my favourite quick tasty roast dinner. I do roast differently each time, it depends on how over the day I am, if I want to make everything from scratch, how many cats am I fending off and really how coordinated I am that day. It is a mixture of random recipes and whatever worked for me. I hope you enjoy as much as I do because this is what I did tonight and it was yummy.

Lisa's Random Roast Beef with Mash Potato, Peas Roast Sweet Potato and Corn

Rubbing Oil (I do this the night before)
1 cup of olive oil
2 tblsp of crushed garlic
Pepper to taste.

Place all ingredients in  bowl and leave to infuse over night.

Ingredients
1kg of Blade Roast
Rubbing Oil
Olive oil spray
5 large potatoes (Peeled and cut into eighths)
2 large cobs of corn
1 sweet potato cubed into 2cm pieces
1 cup of peas (I only eat them in this house)
1/2 cup Milk (to taste for mash potatoes)
2 tbsp Butter (to taste for mash potatoes)
Gravy

Method:
1. Preheat oven to 180 Degrees Celsius
2. Rub over oil, garlic and pepper mixture. Place in oven for 65 mins (I like mine medium so for every 450g I cook for 25 mins)
4. With 25 mins left boil large pot of water and add potatoes for mash potatoes.
3. With 20 mins to go place sweet potato on a tray and spray with oil, play in oven to roast.
4. 15 mins left boil water in a medium sauce pan, add corn and peas and cook for 8 mins.
5. Take out meat leave to sit for 10 mins.
7. Take off potatoes add milk and butter, mash.
 8. Place vegetables out onto plate and slice beef thinly.
9. Serve with gravy, I usually make it from what is left over in the pan (or if not enough time use a packet mix).

Etsy Addictions

I have a problem...I LOVE ETSY! It is a serious addiction, I have now banned myself from buying fabric. I have some amazing fabric and so many ideas that I need to ACTUALLY DO before I add to my stash. I will have to show you a few of my favourites in a post. But, here are the current stores I am in LOVE with. I am tending to notice a woodland animal theme lately.

Paizly Polka Dot- Owl coaster sets. I can just imagine these 4 little guys sitting on my coffee table while I sip Honeyblush Tea from Absolute Tea.

Jen Skelly amazing screen prints with inspirational quotes. I want to buy them all and hang them in my office. They are so bright, positive and up beat. I particularly love her "Laugh is a smile that bursts' print. 

Lulu Froot has the most beautiful prints and decals. I know they are supposed to be for nurseries but I would decorate my space with the monkey, foxes, birds and sloth families. The shapes and colours are truly peaceful and calming. Just sweet images. 

Dolls and Daydreams patterns are so simple and effective. I absolutely love my skelebones pattern that I used for a friends birthday gift.  I have so many of her patterns lined up to use with my ever growing fabric stash. She makes it so easy to create something with basic instructions and great how to guides.

Laura Frisk and her beautiful woodblock printed pillows and purses. I adore this woodland set. I particularly love the detailing on the Owl's face and rabbits fur. I could snuggle up to a fox on a cold winters night. 

Well...that is all of my day dreaming for now. Time to get back to reality but, a small slice of chocolate cake may help with that.
